The whole county. East Sussex is wider than people assume — Rye to Peacehaven is a fair run — so we quote on access and distance rather than pretending it is all the same job. Crews work out of the coastal strip and the Uckfield side, which keeps the Downs villages reachable without a long dead leg.
Lewes, old Hastings and parts of Rye are exactly this. We shuttle: park the Luton on the nearest road that takes it, then run the load in and out with a smaller van or trolleys. It adds hands rather than drama, and we would rather plan it than discover it on the morning.
Yes. Chains slip and dates move; that is normal here. Goods go into wrapped containers, inventoried, and come out in the order you want them back. Tell us at quote stage if there is any chance you will need it.
Either. Plenty of people pack the books and the kitchen themselves and leave us the china, the pictures and the wardrobes. Full pack is available too. Say which you want and the quote reflects it.
No, it is us. The load leaves East Sussex, runs the A27 and A21 up to the M25 and out through Kent to the tunnel or the ferry, and the paperwork for the customs side goes with it. Same crew packing, same office answering.
We can quote from a good description, but a survey is better and costs nothing. Video works well — walk the phone round, open the loft hatch, show us the parking. What we are pricing is volume, access at both ends, and how much packing you want. Guesswork helps no one.
Regularly. Eastbourne, Bexhill and St Leonards are full of them. The questions are the same every time: how many flights, is there a lift, how far from the door to a legal parking spot, and does the council need a bay suspending. We check before the day.
Common out towards Heathfield, Ninfield and the Ashdown edge. The house is rarely the big part — it is the barn, the workshop and thirty years of things that have not moved. Tell us what is in the outbuildings so the volume in the quote is the real one.
Uprights yes, routinely, with the right board and straps. Grands we will look at first — a grand out of a first-floor Lewes flat is a specialist job and we would rather bring in a piano specialist than bluff it.
Goods in transit cover is in place and storage is covered too. There are the usual conditions about owner-packed cartons and items of unusual value, so if something is genuinely valuable, flag it and we will confirm in writing what is covered before you book.
Yes, and Saturdays book up first, especially through the summer. If your completion date is fixed, tell us early. If it is flexible, midweek moves are easier to crew and easier to park.
It happens. If the keys do not release, the load stays on the vehicle or goes into store overnight rather than sitting on a pavement. We will tell you what that means for the booking honestly rather than pretending nothing has changed.
Beds, wardrobes, table legs, flat-pack that will not survive a staircase — yes, and we rebuild at the other end. Fitted units and anything plumbed or wired in we leave to the relevant trade.
Yes. Splitting a household, or emptying a storage unit on the way through, is a common enough ask. Mention both addresses in the brief so the route and the timing are costed properly.
We take the packing materials — cartons, paper, blankets — back with us as a matter of course. Clearing a loft or a garage of things you are not taking is a separate job and we will price it separately rather than quietly folding it in.
It can be. Both councils operate bay suspensions and they need arranging in advance. We will tell you which side of it we handle and which side needs you as the resident, because some permits can only be applied for by the occupier.
As soon as you have a realistic date, even a provisional one. Summer and the end of the month go first. Booking early costs nothing and moving a provisional date is easier than finding a crew at short notice.
Small commercial work, yes — offices along Eastbourne seafront, studios in the Hastings Old Town, shop fits in Lewes. Out-of-hours is usually the answer so the business loses the least trading time.
Your goods share a vehicle with other consignments heading the same way, so you pay for the space you use rather than a whole lorry. It suits smaller households and anyone whose dates can bend. A dedicated vehicle is the alternative when the date cannot move.
We do, working from the inventory. Since the UK left the EU a household move to France, Spain, Italy or Portugal needs a proper packing list and the transfer-of-residence documentation for the destination country. We will tell you what we need from you and when.
We will quote across the boundary — plenty of moves run between Brighton and the county — but our ground is East Sussex proper: the BN coastal towns east of the city, Lewes and the Ouse valley, and the whole TN side.
